CONSORTIUM - ADMIN ONLY TOPIC

As you know we are listed on Consortium and have been for years. But we also do have our own ranking system, which does not discard players who have not played for a certain amount of days. So everyone Keeps their points.

As you may also know, consortium keeps a full log of all the server chat for an entire week, which is a bit long.
This is far from ideal because it is a security risk and does have ethical implications. Like gossip queens who like to go read all the chats lol
Anyway, I believe the amount of time should be 3 days for these things (Datenschutz/GDPR)

I have contacted Consortium and apparently it is impossible to disable chat logs - It seems to also be impossible to do it server side - the alternative would be to have a redirection server for all the UDP to be filtered through and sent further to Consortium without the chat logs, a bit of a massive enterprise!

Now the question is how do we go about this.
The cons: we may lose some players since a few players only play on Consortium servers, although the list of servers on Consortium has decreased. They are down to 29 and excluding their own 8 servers listed there, that is 21 external servers...

Also note that the new kids on the block incl MASSACRE and VG, aren't listed there as they also have their own ranking system.

I think we can keep using the current system since other option is a bit tricky. :)

may not have much to do with privacy, but it does come in handy sometimes.
I understand your concerns, but I think we would lose rather than gain :)
I think there is nothing to be afraid of
