Saysounds

Setting the volume of saysounds from 25% to 100% but not mute, for example by "say25" (saysound volume 25%) command, similar as music volume. I myself noticed that sometimes, instead of resting and relaxing in the game, I start to get tired of sounds

, in those moments when during a round sounds are heard every second. In some cases it would be useful, I myself sometimes like to abuse sounds.

Now here is a good idea, I often use saysounds and it would be nice to continue with that without annoying the hell out of some of the players. Actually I wasnt aware that it was a problem, but the solution is right here.

I am divided on this... I agree first imporessions is paramount. But that said, our server and team is about having a blast and keeping things light. Sometimes it takes a few days for a player to get warmed up to the atmosphere.
We must undestand that old hl2dm players have been bathing in a toxic atmosphere for over 15 years. It is not easy for them to warm up to things instantly, but eventually they actually do.
I am worried that if we give the option to disable music, sounds etc at the beginning, they might never have the opportinuty to experience fully what ZG is about... if that makes sense?

I get what you're saying, but having a blast should not mean having your eardrums blasted from the second you join the server.
The opt-out option could work in a number of ways that aren't permanent:
- until the end of the map
- until the end of the day/week/month
- until the player has used a saysound himself

I don`t think many players will miss out of the "ZG experience" just because of a saysound block. Like Abra says, if its temporary for one map, it wont be a big deal. Besides, there is no need to advertise this feature on first page. We could still let some saysounds pass the filter, like gg, ty, ns

Saysounds are fun, but sometimes it hurts. imagine: you want to play and relax, but the looped sound is fucked you hard, you ask the player not to do this, he agreed, but it will work for several minutes and this start again then you punish the player, he offended and confused because he did not commit any illegal actions, and finally you do not relax and get a free headache. Happy end.
Another one scenario : you are not admin, but you want same things like that guy who gets headache wanted before headache. You ask the player do not do this, he’s agreed and after few minutes it started again. but you are not admin, you can’t punish nobody, and you just went to the other place. And finally the loud guy can’t fuck nobody with looped sounds, because all rq. Happy end. Sayounds volume knob is needed, it would be the best solution for guys with headaches and for beatmakers, but I kind of already mentioned this .. hmm, bs, probably déjà vu

just to complement salo's ideia, we can make a lot of volumes except vol0, since bub wants people to hear saysounds
